The Census data includes details of vessels which were in ports in England and Wales on the night of the census, and Royal Navy vessels abroad. If you have not located the Vessel you require, try using wildcards to include variations in spelling of the vessel name. If you are not sure whether it is a Royal Navy vessel, do not include the "H.M.S." Finally it may be that you do not have enough information to identify the vessel and you need to do some more research before using the Census on-line service.
